Black Forest Chia Pudding

Black Forest Chia Pudding

This black forest inspired chia pudding is a perfect breakfast, healthy snack, or dessert.

It is not too sweet, very high in protein (chia seeds are also a great source of plant protein) and quick to prepare. You can easily make it the day before and then have a good breakfast the next day or several small snack sizes.

One of the pros of chia pudding is its versatility. This recipe can also be available in several versions depending on the ingredients you have on hand. Do not hesitate to add a nut butter of your choice, nuts on top, other fruits, different vegan protein flavors, etc...
Changing the ingredients won't call for a black forest chia pudding anymore, but knowing that you can twist this recipe in any way is exciting.

Ingredients ( Makes 1 large portion, 2 medium portions for breakfast or 4 small snack sizes)

Chia pudding
• 2 cups of water or vegan milk
• ½ cup chia seeds
• 1 scoop of Chocolate Vegan Pro
• 2 teaspoons of cocoa powder
• 4 tablespoons of maple syrup

Cherry jam *
• 1 cup of frozen cherries
• 1 teaspoon of water
• 1 tablespoon maple syrup

Toppings
• Dark chocolate chips

Black Forest Chia Pudding RecipePreparation
1. Put all the ingredients for the chia pudding in a blender. Blend until homogeneous. Taste and adjust if necessary: add more cocoa powder or maple syrup according to your taste.
2. Pour the mixture into a bowl for a Masson jar. The mixture will thicken as time pass.
3. Put the ingredients for the cherry jam in a saucepan. Cover at medium, and cook for 5 minutes. Stir from time to time, so the mixture does not burn. Then, cook for 5 minutes without the lid. Crush the cherries a little bit with a wooden spoon, so you still get chunks of cherry in your jam.
4. Add the cherry jam with the juice and dark chocolate chips to the chia pudding.
5. Enjoy!
* If you want to save time, you can use a store-bought jam.
