Jessica Garneau, MBA, ND., started her career in the Canadian Armed Forces which she enrolled at age 16 as an officer-cadet. She spent years training at various military locations in Canada and graduated from the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts (Business Administration). She kept on studying and graduated, a few years later, with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Fredericton, New-Brunswick. After spending over six years in the military, Jessica retired at the 1stCanadian Field Hospital of Canada in Petawawa, Ontario. Following her rewarding career in the military, she joined the Canadian Public Service where she worked for Transport Canada, the Department of Justice as well as Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada as a senior financial manager.
She never lost touch with the veterans’ community as she is an active participant of the program Soldier On which is committed to supporting veterans and serving members to adapt and overcome permanent physical or mental health injuries through physical activity and sports. After spending time talking to veterans, she quickly realized the need for a natural approach to help them with their health conditions. Unfortunately, our veterans are not reimbursed when they consult a naturopath doctor even when it is for a pensionable condition. Jessica decided to fill this gap and graduated with great distinction in a 1 900 hours naturopathic doctor program and joined the association of professional naturopath of Québec (ANPQ). She now offers consultation with Canadian veterans totally free of charge whether it is in person in the Ottawa capital region or anywhere in the world by phone, email, and facetime.
Jessica is known to be a high achiever and likes to learn at least one new thing every day. She is currently completing a second master degree in the field of mental health which she believes will be beneficial in tailoring the support she provides to the veterans’ community. Well aware of the connection between sports and health, she enjoys endurance training and completed multiple marathons as well as an Ironman triathlon in Mont-Tremblant, Québec. To raise money for Soldier On, she broke a world Guinness record in 2016 and became the fastest woman to run a marathon with an operational gas mask in a little over 4 hours and 41 minutes at the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon. Following a mostly vegan lifestyle herself, she has been relying on plant-based supplements to keep a healthy mind and body. Jessica joined Raw Nutritional in August 2018 as a naturopath doctor.
