Selfcare has become way more important these past few years. We feel like you all deserve to take some time off and focus on what brings you happiness and wellbeing. Here are a few tips for a perfect cocooning day!

10 essentials for a cocooning day

What is cocooning? According to a definition found in the dictionary, it is "to please ourselves in a cozy comfort". The goal of a cocooning day is to feel so good at home that you absolutely don't want to go out! How do we do that?

Here are my 10 essentials to get there...

1. Find what you want to do

It is still important to plan your cocooning day as little as possible. You have to know what you want to do to relax. You don't need to make a list, but at least have a little idea! Do we want to listen to movies or series? Want to finish a novel? Listening to music and doing some relaxation? In short, you have to think about it a little bit before!

2. Wear comfortable clothes

The key to a cocooning day is to feel GOOD. For that, it is essential to be dressed super comfortable! Pyjamas, jogging pants, a dressing gown, anything you feel good in.

3. Have a cozy ambiance

The ambiance is so important. You have to feel good at home to hang out all day. A little cleaning, light candles to make the house smell good, dim the lights, and you're done!

4. Eat comfort food

Whether it's your grandma's meal or delicious muffins, the important thing is that it is good and comforting for you! I always find it pleasant to cook a few dishes and then enjoy them in front of a good movie.

5. Drink hot drinks

Who says pyjamas and soft clothes, also says a small hot cup of coffee! If you don't like coffee, there's no shortage of options (hot chocolate, tea, herbal tea, etc.).

6. Stay away from all negativity

The cocooning day is there to make us relax and feel peaceful. Therefore, it is important to put aside all things that could tend to interfere with our morals. For example, we do not look at our work emails!

7. Take a good hot bath

It is well known that hot baths are good! Their warmth is relaxing and soothing. For my part, this is how I start my cocooning days. I take a nice hot bath, I relax, and then I feel ready to start my day of relaxation!

8. Get face and body treatments

As with the bath, this little ritual is part of the relaxation session. Like putting on a face mask when you're in the tub and taking the opportunity to hydrate your body well. In short, apply care that you don't do every day. We take care of ourselves!

9. Make sure you stay warm

This point mainly applies if the cocooning day is during the colder seasons. If possible, make a small fire or light the fireplace, have thick warm blankets nearby and good slippers on your feet.

10. Keyword: Comfort

In short, you will understand here that the keyword is COMFORT. For example, if you are going to read in your bed, make sure it is as cozy as possible. If you want to watch movies in the living room, why not put plenty of pillows on the floor and have a big home cinema!
