Chrismas time, and pretty much the entire month around the holidays are filled with joy and love. However, it can quickly become chaotic in the stores, crowded in your house, and increase your stress level! This is not what we want. Staying relaxing and enjoying this time of the year is the key to start the next year fresh!
The well-being rituals to implement to live a harmonious holiday season

The holiday season is a time of the year that can be experienced in many ways. It can be magical and filled with happiness but also as a more stressful and exhausting moment. Of course, this depends on several factors: the family and the atmosphere that reigns there, expectations for the holidays, the vision and memories associated with this period, etc.

Many of these cannot, unfortunately, be changed or controlled. For those, sometimes, the best you can do is accept them and then let go. On the other hand, for the others (expectations regarding the holidays and what to do, vision of this period…), it is possible to put in place certain elements that will help you to feel calmer, more peaceful, and in harmony.

You'd be surprised how small, simple rituals can transform how you experience the holidays.

Very often, everything starts from you. Change how you feel, and you will inevitably change the feeling of others around you. It is worth spending some time there.

Here are some rituals you can do:

1) Breathe

It’s the basis of life, and yet much of it is spent not breathing as deeply as we could. Our breathing is often concentrated at the top of the rib cage in addition to being short.

However, lengthening your breathing can have many benefits. It helps reduce stress and anxiety, be more connected at the moment, improve digestion, etc.

So, during the holidays, it is a great idea to spend a few minutes a day breathing.

Here is an exercise you can do:

Close your eyes and observe it first, for a few minutes, without judgment and without trying to modify it. Is it short or deep? Is it at the level of the rib cage or the belly? After that, take deeper breaths and exhalations and try to breathe through your stomach. Feel your belly swell when you breathe in and deflate when you breathe out. A few minutes later, open your eyes and feel the benefits.

2) Establish an intention for the holidays

Before you headfirst into this period, think about what you would like to experience. Would you like to take advantage of this period to relax? To reconnect to the child within you? To just have fun? To express your love to your family?

Establish a clear intention for this time of the year and remind yourself of it frequently during this time.

3) Relax your muscles

It is very likely that you have worked a lot before the holidays and that you feel muscular tension. Unknowingly, these tensions can also affect your mood.

Take the time each day to relax them. Take a few minutes to stretch them, and in just a few days, you will already feel more space in your body.

Also, if you can, make an appointment for a massage. Your body will thank you for it.

Remember, the holidays are, above all, a time for you and your family. A moment to have fun, to rest, and create beautiful memories. The most beautiful memories are often those that we have not planned and that are found in the simplest moments.
