Apple and Caramel Protein Turnovers
I love creating turnover recipes. It's so simple, but above all, tasty. The smell that spreads in the house and just as pleasant. It's like lighting a candle!
These slippers have an addition of vegetable proteins since the main ingredient is Vegan Pro. This is a wonderful recipe for lunch, but remember to save the leftovers for small snacks!
Ingredients (4 turnovers)
1 Apple, peeled and diced
1 tsp Vanilla extract
1 half portion Vegan Pro – Butterscotch
3 tbsp Plant-based milk
200g Puff pastry, thawed
Gilding
1 tbsp Vegetable margarine, melted
Garnish
1/2 tbsp Icing sugar
1/4 tsp Ground cinnamon
Method :
1. Preheat oven to 400°F and lightly oil a baking sheet.
2. Over medium heat, cook the apples and vanilla for 5 minutes in a saucepan. Leave to cool for 5 minutes before adding the Vegan Pro and the plant-based milk. Mix well.
3. Roll out the dough into a 40 x 20 cm rectangle on a floured work surface. Cut into four 20 x 10 cm rectangles. Spread the apple mixture on half of each rectangle. Close the dough to form 4 squares and press the edges firmly with a fork. Make a small slit on the top of the turnovers with a knife. Place on the baking sheet.
4. Using a brush, brush the turnovers with the margarine. Bake 20 minutes in the oven. Sprinkle with garnish.
