Apple Crumble To Go
Apple Crumble To Go
Apple season is finally upon us! Oh yes, since the end of August, it is already possible to go to the apple orchards to pick apples. Who says apple picking? It also says TOO many apples at home. Of course, making compote, pies or eating them like that is possible. On the other hand, this apple crumble-to-go recipe is perfect for back-to-school! A delicious, nutritious snack to put in the children's lunch box.
A little advice, keep your apples in the fridge! They will stay much longer.
Ingredients (4 servings)
3 cups (6 apples), peeled, cored and diced
2 tbsp Pure Organic Coconut Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla extract
Crust
1/3 cup Unbleached all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups Quick cooking rolled oats
2 tbsp Pure Organic Coconut Sugar
Pinch of salt
1/3 cup Vegetable margarine, melted
1 tsp Vanilla extract
1 tsp Cinnamon
Method :
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients for the crust. Pour the preparation on the baking sheet and cook for 20 minutes in the oven, stirring halfway through cooking.
3. Meanwhile, in a saucepan over medium heat, cook the apples with the coconut sugar and vanilla for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Transfer the apples to 4 airtight containers.
4. Once the filling is ready, cover the apples with the filling. Let cool before closing containers.
