Chocolate Cherry Waffles Black Forest Cake Style

These chocolate cherry waffles are inspired by the classic Black Forest cake and are rich, indulgent, yet well balanced. Soft on the inside and lightly crispy on the outside, they’re perfect for brunch or a healthier dessert. The combination of cacao, cherries, and dark chocolate creates a decadent flavor you’ll want to enjoy again and again.

Ingredients (about 8 waffles)
- 1 cup Plant-based milk of choice
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice
- 1 tsp Almond extract
- 3/4 cup Oat flour
- 1 tbsp Cornstarch
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 1/2 tsp Baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 3 tbsp RAW Nutritional Pure Cacao
- 3 tbsp Vegan Pro chocolate protein powder
- 1/3 cup fresh Cherries, chopped
- 1/4 cup Dark chocolate chips
- Oil, for greasing the waffle iron

Toppings
- 1/4 cup Dark chocolate
- 1/2 tsp Coconut oil
- Yogurt of choice
- Fresh cherries

Method
1- In a bowl, whisk together all the ingredients except the cherries and chocolate chips until smooth. Fold in the cherries and chocolate chips, then let the batter rest for a few minutes (about 8–10 minutes).
2- Preheat the waffle iron and lightly grease it.
3- Pour 1/4 to 1/3 cup of batter (depending on the size of your waffle iron), close the lid, and cook for 3–4 minutes or until the waffles are fully cooked.
4- Keep warm and repeat with the remaining batter.

For the topping
1- Melt the dark chocolate and coconut oil in the microwave, 30 seconds at a time, until smooth.
2- To serve, drizzle the chocolate sauce over the waffles and top with yogurt and fresh cherries.
