What to do at home on hot days?

The heat waves are, unfortunately, officially arrived! This suffocating heat often does not make you want to go out much, especially since it can be dangerous to be exposed too long to a big heat like that.

We tend to feel guilty for staying home when it's sunny outside. In my opinion, it is very normal to want to stay at home if the temperature does not make you feel comfortable!

Here is a short list of things to do at home during a heat wave :

1. Massage therapy at home

An activity that is out of the ordinary but that does well. It is too easy to forget that this service exists. A little massage therapy session at home to treat yourself to a moment of rest and relaxation without leaving the house!

2. Home theatre

A perfect classic for any season. For me, a home theatre is settling comfortably in your living room or bed with as many pillows as possible and listening to great classics and/or your favourite movies. It's also always nice to have a few treats on hand (chips, candies, popcorn, etc.).

3. Reading time

I never take the time to read. A short day at home would allow me to take out my few books lying on my bedside table for too long!

4. Redecorate your house

If you want to redecorate one or more rooms in your home and your budget allows it, now might be the right time! How? You can create a mood board for yourself on Pinterest by looking at different inspirations; then, you can start shopping online from the comfort of your living room.

5. Cook frozen snacks

Here are some ideas for frozen snacks to cook when it's hot :

6. With children

If you have kids at home, now is the time to get creative! You will need to equip yourselves to do all kinds of crafts; you can do singing competitions, take out the pillows and blankets to make cabins in the living room and have fun doing funny make-up and hairstyles!

Finally, if you do not have air conditioning, it is crucial to keep your house cool. Keep the windows closed, avoid the use of the oven, use fans, close the curtains as much as possible, open the windows at night to let in the fresh air and dehumidify with a dehumidifier if possible!
